The small contingent of Shanghai American Jews got together for a little Hannukah party last week. We're small in numbers, and even in the minority at the hannukah party! That was actually a nice surprise though, since so many of our non-jewish friends showed up to celebrate with us. In this picture, our friend Michelle is teaching a group of our friends' kids (who are also some of my students) about the meaning of Hannukah. We had some potato latkas that couldn't be beat and din't get up until the next mornin'.
